South County Brewery

South County Brewing York Township, York County, PA

Planning for Future Expansion
South County Brewing is developing a new 30,000 SF facility on 13 acres of woodlands in York Township. The new location will have an expanded retail experience, increased brewing capability, a full-service restaurant, a music venue, and expansive outdoor spaces. This facility will allow for the continued growth of the South County brand to meet market demands, expand capacity, storage, and shipping opportunities.

Site Planning and Planting Designs That Work with the Property’s Existing Landscape
RGS’ land development plan, stormwater design, and overall site and planting designs allowed for a one-of-a-kind secluded brewery experience that’s also easily accessible to customers.

Site grading was paramount for providing adequate access while limiting the overall cut required to level the knob on the property. The disturbance was minimized with the use of underground stormwater management facilities to keep as many existing trees as possible and minimize the overall footprint.

In addition to utility coordination on the site, the RGS team worked hard to buffer and protect neighboring properties. Extreme elevation changes throughout the property will require some steep access drives, but also create a unique western view shed highlighted by lowering the parking lot below eye line for sunset views.

Designing the South County Customer Experience
The steep, winding access drive will open to a view to a ski lodge-like structure with expansive outdoor seating on the patio and lawn with picturesque sunset views. The convenient proximity to Interstate 83 and ample on-site parking will provide beer fans with a very convenient venue to enjoy the South County Brewing experience.
