  • Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

    The RGS Receptionist/Administrative Assistant provides general office support by performing a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Receptionist has primary responsibility for answering incoming calls, directing calls, greeting clients, office correspondence, maintaining the lobby and general office spaces, ordering supplies, archiving files, and coordinating Lunch & Learn sessions.

    Primary Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Answer phone calls, greet clients, and update and maintain the contact databases.
    • Order office supplies, handle incoming/outgoing mail, and general upkeep of common areas.
    • Type and review proposals and comment letters.
    • Assist with planning/implementing company events and Lunch & Learns.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Associates degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; OR
    • 3 to 5 years related administrative experience and/or training

  • Civil Engineer

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • A civil engineer, working within a project team, is responsible for the design, analysis, and permitting of land development projects including layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, permitting, and construction observation.
    • Research, review, and interpret local SALDO, Zoning, Floodplain, and SWM ordinances.
    • Perform site grading, layout, and road design within AutoCAD C3D (or the ability to oversee this aspect with a drafter/designer).
    • Perform utility layout, profiling, and detailing for gravity sanitary sewer and water systems.
    • Perform stormwater management and conveyance facility design, detailing, and computations.
    • Perform erosion and sediment control facility design, detailing, and computations.
    • Prepare technical reports in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare permit application packages for authorization by local, state, and federal agencies including but not limited to Sewage Planning, NPDES, Chapter 105, and PennDOT utility permits.
    • Provide basic construction phase services including oversight during the construction of PCSM facilities, shop drawing review, RFI responses, CSK preparation, etc.
    • Prepare as-built record plans for submission to local, state, and federal agencies.
    • Provide basic mentorship, technical support, and delegation to drafter/designer staff.

    Qualifications Required:

    • BSCE in Civil Engineering or related field
    • EIT or PE preferred
    • Ability to ability apply critical thinking skills to problem solving, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate design solutions.
    • Ability to work independently, with oversight by manager or senior staff, on project related goals
    • Knowledge of design technique, fundamentals, tools, etc. involved in the production of technical plans, details, and computations.
    • Familiarity and proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)

  • CAD Designer

    The CAD Designer is responsible for the creation and production of technical drawings for all aspects of RGS engineering and land planning projects. Experience drafting stormwater management systems, grading plans, erosion and sedimentation control plans, utility profiles, construction details for land development projects, and GIS mapping a plus.

    Primary Responsibilities and Skills Required:
    Assists in supporting engineers and landscape architects by creating and revising CAD drawings.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or trade school.
    • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, Photoshop, Land FX and/or GIS.
    • Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Sketch-Up and Lumion a plus but is not required.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
    • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills including being adept at active listening, critical thinking, and ability to ask questions.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

    Primary Responsibilities and Skills Required:

    A landscape architect, working within a project team, is responsible for the design, analysis, graphic communication, and assistance in the preparation of land development plans and construction documents.  Responsibilities include site layout, grading, utility design, planting design, open space design, renderings, visual simulation, providing permitting assistance and construction observation.

    • Assists in drawing preparation including construction detailing, design development, drafting support, quality control and file management.
    • Evaluates code compliance.
    • Independently prepares designs for site layouts, site grading and utility design, drainage concepts, and planting plans.
    • Prepares project summaries, memoranda, reports, construction details, and cost opinions. Attends construction meetings and prepares field reports overseen by manager.
    • Works in a team setting helping to facilitate project outcomes from inception to completion and achieving project financial goals.
    • Independently prepare analyses, setup plan sets and drawings, review ordinances and apply standards, conduct research, and apply it to design.
    • Independently draft stormwater, site layouts, utility and roadway profiles, planting plans, sewer, and water system layouts, and calculate grades.
    • Annotate plans, utilize basic CAD drafting tools, and perform basic calculations.
    • Technical expertise sufficient to participate in the design and approval of site design, land development and construction documentation projects.
    • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture at an accredited university
    • 0-3 years of experience
    • Knowledge of or proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, Photoshop, Land FX and/or GIS.
    • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects.
    • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, co-workers and approval agency personnel.
    • Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
    • Knowledge or proficiency in the use of 3D modeling software such as Sketch-Up and Lumion a plus but is not required.
