RGS announces the retirement of Principal Mark A. Johnson, RLA

With sincere gratitude for his service, RGS announces the retirement of Principal Mark A. Johnson, RLA. “Johnson has been instrumental in helping shape RGS Associates into the successful firm that we have become. We celebrate his accomplishments and wish him well as he enters this next stage of life,” commented Joel R. Snyder, Managing Principal.

Johnson grew up in the suburbs outside of Chicago, Illinois. He studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduation he joined Donahue Associates as a Senior Land Planner. In 1988 Johnson accepted a position as a Project Manager at Rettew Associates and moved to Pennsylvania, where he became involved in the design and permitting of both public and private development projects. In 1995, he joined RGS as a Client Manager and Shareholder of the firm.

Over his career he played a pivotal role changing the landscape of our community. He has overseen and worked on a number of the region’s landmarks, including commercial projects such as Mill Creek Square, The Shoppes at Kissel Village, The Shoppes at Belmont, and Covered Bridge Marketplace. Noteworthy residential communities include The Highlands at Warwick, Newport Square, Worthington, Bentley Ridge, and Traditions of America – Lititz. Johnson has also worked with the American Music Theatre and Sight & Sound Theatre. A testament to his service and personal manner, Johnson had retained a number of clients who have been with the firm for over 20 years.

“I am grateful to have spent over 22 years with this company and it has been my pleasure to have been an integral part of the leadership team during that period. I believe this is a good time for me to step away and look for new challenges,” stated Johnson.
