Froelich Park serves as demonstration site for Stormwater BMP

Mountville’s Froelich Park had recently sparked interest from key community organizations such as the Lancaster County Planning Commission, Center for Watershed Protection, and Susquehanna River Basin Commission. After researching and ranking of multiple sites, Froelich Park was chosen for a regenerative stormwater conveyance best management practice (BMP) project to serve as a demonstration site. The project replaced an eroded ditch with a swale that has a series of pools and cascades to slow water, reduce pollutants and support infiltration.

RGS was proud to provide civil engineering services for this Stormwater BMP demonstration site along with the generous efforts and participation from Land Grant Surveyors, LandStudies, Columbia Borough, Rohrer’s Quarry, and Penn Stone who donated services and materials in order to bring the vision to reality.
