RGS developed a comprehensive master planting plan for the Nittany Lion Inn. Special consideration was given to numerous underground utilities (including a large underground steam line) so the plantings would survive under these adverse conditions. Other site considerations included impermeable soils and limited access to a court area.
RGS Associates provided the following services:
- Preparation of master landscape plan for Inn and adjacent parking area
- Preparation of master plan for True-Putt putting green within a central court area
- Preparation of final planting plan and details showing location, size, genus, and species of plant material
- Preparation of sub-surface drainage system to drain impermeable soils
- Preparation of aeration plans to aerate plant roots and provide acceptable soil conditions for plants
- Preparation of technical construction and planting specifications for True-Putt putting green, stone aggregate walls, brick edging, wood screen fencing and plantings
- Coordinated construction bidding
- Various construction phase services including pre-construction conference, review of payments, shop drawings, site observation, and job conferences
