Sycamore Square
Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, PAThe Sycamore Square project is joint venture development between the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown and commercial developers of Susquehanna Real Estate and Wagman Construction, Inc. The project involves the adaptive re-use of four existing buildings consisting of 23,800 sf of mixed use commercial businesses, four new buildings comprising 62,000 sf of new general commercial, medical and professional office space and two new independent living apartment buildings consisting of 126 new retirement living units. The development area comprising the Sycamore Square project consists of approximately 24 acres of land and is situated among the mature sycamore trees on the approach to the main entrance of the 1400 acre Masonic Village Campus. The project also involves the acquisition and economic re-development of a blighted brownfield property as part of the overall site improvements. Project challenges included extensive work around existing utilities that still serve the Masonic Village Campus. Coordination with Elizabethtown Borough and West Donegal Township officials as well as PADOT to achieve on-street parking to serve the commercial uses posed a unique challenge on this project. Once completed, this project will serve as the first phase of implementation of the Elizabethtown Borough Economic Re-development Master Plan aimed at maintaining a strong and vibrant Borough economy.
