A transect is an important tool for understanding natural and built environments. As a slice through the landscape, from rural to urban areas, a transect is divided into zones in order to plan for the most appropriate land use, building density, and development patterns.

RGS partnered with the Lancaster County Planning Commission (LCPC) to develop visualizations of four locations within identified transect zones to demonstrate preferable development scenarios. RGS assisted the LCPC staff in the decision making process related to each scenario including Lincoln Highway infill development within the Village of Paradise as depicted above.
