The Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities requested that RGS prepare two illustrations depicting its vision for redevelopment of two historic resources in the Borough of Marietta, PA. Our illustrative plan-view and ‘bird’s-eye’ perspective sketches were then used in the Authorities’ quest for funding and general community support of redevelopment initiatives. Our drawings depicted adaptive re-use of the Union Meeting House (c. 1817) as a future events venue, renovation of Marietta’s Old Town Hall (c. 1847), off-street parking facilities, ADA-compliant site access, and streetscape enhancements to visually unify these two local landmarks located on opposing sides of N. Waterford Avenue.

To prepare these illustrations, RGS utilized available topographic information to create a digital three-dimensional site model, and then presented this model from a variety of visual vantage points so that our clients could select their preferred sketch view. Using this selected vantage point, RGS then prepared its hand-drawn sketches to effectively illustrate the character of proposed Marietta Borough enhancements.
