RGS partnered with Willow Valley, the nation’s second largest non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community to design this expansion. The project involved extensive public hearings and neighborhood meetings to secure approvals for the 37-acre campus. The site design involved the protection and crossing of existing wetlands, preservation and adaptive re-use of an existing historic farmstead, 220 independent living apartments with underground parking, and an 82,000 square-foot cultural center with pools, auditorium and recreation facilities, a 5-story health center with 46 assisted living beds, 30 dementia care beds, and a two-story 191 space car parking deck. The project also includes a central green space and the reservation of a 8.3-acre private open space for campus residents.
