Sycamore Square was a joint venture between the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, Susquehanna Real Estate, and Wagman Construction. The project involved the adaptive re-use of four existing buildings for mixed use commercial, four new buildings, two new independent living apartments consisting of 126 retirement living units. The development area comprising the Sycamore Square project was approximately 24 acres situated among the mature sycamore trees on the approach to the main entrance of the 1,400-acre Masonic Village Campus. The project involved the acquisition and economic re-development of a blighted brownfield property as part of the overall site improvements. Project challenges included extensive work around existing utilities tat serve the Masonic Village Campus. Coordination with Elizabethtown Borough, West Donegal Township officials and PennDOT to achieve on-street parking to serve the commercial uses posed a unique challenge on this project.
