Richter Precision is North America’s preeminent vacuum coating company. As technologies have evolved and their business has grown, Richter Precision saw the need to consolidate their three existing buildings into two and expand the company’s overall footprint. This project involved an approximate 32,000 sq. ft. building addition, reduced and relocated parking, site grading, and green infrastructure stormwater management facilities in direct relation to the size and shape of the proposed expansion, as well as, the irregularly shaped property.

Through the use of creative stormwater management solutions, RGS was able to maximize the value of the land by designing pervious asphalt and underground stormwater solutions to keep site impervious area within the allowed percentage (by-right) while still meeting the townships and NPDES permitting requirements. This design solution enabled Richter Precision to increase their overall building footprint. RGS was also able to successfully obtain a waiver of the Township’s SALDO to reduce the number of proposed parking spaces based on actual need, not the Township’s ordinance requirement.

RGS took time to understand the basics of the client’s day to day business operations in order to design phasing plans that allowed the business to operate uninterrupted throughout the construction process. This phasing plan took into consideration the full functionality and vehicular access to all buildings.
