RGS Receives Honor Award from PA-DE ASLA

RGS Associates was recognized with an Honor Award for the South Campus Expansion at Landis Homes by the Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Awards are given for excellence in the execution of works in landscape architecture.

The 45-acre expansion at Landis Homes is a culmination of nearly a decade of advanced planning, design and construction. This expansion focused on effectively utilizing the last remaining portion of undeveloped land balanced with the stewardship and restoration of natural resources on the property. The outcome has resulted in the thoughtful and sensitive, award-winning development of this 115-acre Continuing Care Retirement Community situated near Lititz, PA.

The project was carefully reviewed by a jury of professionals (from the Tennessee ASLA Chapter) who noted:

  • Reuse of reclaimed water permeated every aspect of the neighborhood design. Rain Barrels for each residence to irrigate their landscaping was a wonderful way of connecting the home owners to the low impact development practices.
  • Great use of BMPs to provide client with more build-able acreage.
  • Exceptional restoration of the agricultural degraded stream.
